Burton's Foods, makers of such familiar treats as Maryland Cookies and
Cadbury's Fingers, has expanded the production capacity at its South Wales
Factory, thanks to Encon's construction works.
The factory at Llantarnam, Cwmbran, has undergone £600,000 of expansion
works. While the construction of the extension itself was to a relatively
simple single-storey specification, the project presented unique logistical
challenges - specifically those relating to constructing at an operational
factory site and working near food products without contaminating them -
which Encon was able to overcome through close client liaison and its
considerate construction practices.
